Our Answers

How do I book a session with you?

Easy!

Click any of the Book Now buttons dotted across our site, select the session/class that you're looking for, fill in your details, select your payment type and you're done!

Where are the sessions located?

We offer a variety of sessions/classes in a variety of locations.

Initial consults: at your house where your dog (and you) are most comfortable and where I’m most likely to get an accurate idea of your dog's personality and any behavioural issues you’re having.

Private sessions: I can either continue coming to you or we might be ready to do a town session, in Heyfield.

Group classes: Balanced Paws Group Classes are conducted in Sale, at the Balanced Paws Doggy Daycare. And Town Group Classes are currently conducted in Heyfield.

Walk & Train sessions: I will keep coming to you, whether you’re home or not.

What kind of dog training do you provide?

We specialise in working dog breeds, general obedience for all breeds, as well as anxiety and reactivity issues.

By training the dog in front of us, we teach you to train your dog based on your dog's genetics, temperament, your capabilities and your end goal. Preparing you and your dog for the real world so that you have the freedom to take your dog anywhere.

While we can work with dogs of all ages, we like to send new puppy owners to Meg at Balanced Paws, in Sale. Balanced Paws and Whispering Peaks have a great working relationship and we believe that small businesses should support other small businesses.

What training methods do you use?

I am a qualified dog trainer, working on scientific-based dog training techniques.

This means that I use a lot of positive reinforcement (yes, food treats, and lots of fun!) with minor corrections that do not produce fear or harm your dog.

You can read more about my way of training by heading to our blog here: whisperingpeaks.com.au/how-whispering-peaks-trains-dogs/

What age does my dog need to be to start training?

Any age.
