Helping You and Your Dog Live YOUR Best Life – Wherever the Trail Leads.

— My Story

I’m Kirsty, the heart and soul behind Whispering Peaks Dog Training. Since 2017, I’ve been on a mission to help dog owners create strong, lifelong bonds with their adventure-loving companions. Specialising in training for working breeds and high-drive dogs, I focus on unlocking their potential through tailored, real-life training solutions.

My love for working breeds, especially Kelpies, started back in 2011. As a proud Kelpie owner, I’ve gained invaluable hands-on experience, learning the ins and outs of what makes these dogs tick. I’ve also spent two years working at an animal shelter, where I faced a range of behavioural challenges—from anxiety and reactivity to building confidence in even the most misunderstood dogs.

Certified in Dog Behaviour & Training through NDTF, I’m constantly expanding my knowledge and refining my skills. My passion is helping you and your dog not just coexist, but thrive together—whether you’re navigating mountain trails or simply living your everyday life with ease and confidence.

Let’s embark on this journey together and make sure you and your dog are ready for every adventure life brings.

BENEFITS OF DOG TRAINING

Stronger Bond:

Training strengthens the bond between you and your dog through positive interaction and communication. It builds trust, respect, and a deeper understanding, which leads to a happier relationship.

More Freedom:

With proper training, you can confidently take your dog to more places, knowing they will behave well. This means more walks, trips to the park, and even vacations together, enhancing both your lives.

Enhanced Safety:

A well-trained dog is less likely to engage in dangerous behaviors like running into traffic or getting into fights. Commands like "stay" and "come" can keep your dog safe in various situations, giving you peace of mind.

Kim, Maffra

“Kirsty has a kind, calm method of training ( for both human and fur baby). Kirsty is open to listening and implementing training techniques that suited our family and circumstances. We went from a timid Labrador who wouldn’t come near the front gate when someone arrives to a Labrador who happily greeted Kirsty waiting for pats and a treat. Kirsty is your answer for your smallest and biggest concerns for your fur baby, give her a call or email and she will happily help you out. Opie now has excellent foundations for us to assist him in learning and we are so thankful for the time Kirsty put into assisting us.”

Booma, Glenmaggie

“My 14 month old Kelpie was starting to develop very headstrong antics, and I was getting worried about his jumping and not walking obediently off lead. He was also treating my older dog too roughly. Kirsty has done two sessions with him so far and his behavior has really improved. She’s given me some easy strategies to use with him – and I feel like he is listening to me so much better than he was! We are all going to keep working with Kirsty – having a lively dog is great, but only if he knows how to contain it when he needs to! Thanks Kirsty – highly recommend this service“
